What patients are actually saying
This was my first ultrasound, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I had read some negative reviews beforehand and was feeling quite nervous, but everything went so much better than I expected. I was called in right on time by a very kind and welcoming sonographer. When I told her it was my first ultrasound, she was incredibly caring and supportive throughout the entire appointment. After taking some measurements, she turned the monitor toward me and explained everything in detail. She even invited my husband in from the waiting area so he could see the baby and the heartbeat as well. She took the time to show us everything and even prepared a few images for us to photograph from the screen. The whole experience felt like a dream. I left feeling happy, reassured, and grateful. Thank you for making such a special moment so memorable for our family.
Absolutely terrible. The staff are condescending and seem like they don't want to be there. I'm near 6 foot tall, and upon entering the ultrasound room, was presented with a 4 foot bed and told to lay down. So I did, with 1 foot up and resting on the wall that was used previously, judging by the marks on the wall. When the ultrasound was done the technician just.... left without saying anything. I sat there for 5 minutes before just walking out. If I didn't have an appointment here, I would go literally anywhere else.
I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience absolutely warrants one. I strongly recommend avoiding this clinic. Although I was seen at the Hornby & Robson location, all calls are routed through the Keefer clinic, which made communication even more frustrating. I had an ultrasound here about 7 months ago, and then another one a month ago. After my second ultrasound, I was told I needed an urgent core biopsy. My doctor’s office sent referrals to multiple hospitals, and two accepted me. However, both hospitals advised they were unable to proceed because they were waiting on Downtown Radiology to send my imaging. I called Downtown Radiology multiple times requesting that my scans be sent, and each time I was told that no requests had been received. Meanwhile, my doctor’s office and both hospitals also contacted them several times with the same request. After speaking with my doctor’s office, BC Women’s Hospital, and Mount Saint Joseph Hospital, I was told that delays like this are a known issue with this clinic. I was also told by the hospitals to avoid going here and to spread the word to friends and family. Both hospitals then recommended I pick up the scans myself. I paid $50 for a USB (and was told invoices are not provided??). When I brought the USB to BC Women’s, I was informed the files were not in DICOM format and were not readable. I returned to the clinic, had another USB created, and confirmed multiple times that the files would be in the correct format. Unfortunately, the second USB was also unreadable. On my third visit, I was finally told—for the first time—that the Keefer location is responsible for sending scans to hospitals, not the Hornby location. This had never been communicated previously. I was also told the scans had been sent to Mount Saint Joseph on March 19, which is confusing, as I picked up my second USB on March 20. Ultimately, I had to repeat my ultrasound at Mount Saint Joseph. They are still waiting for my previous scans from Downtown Radiology. I am scheduled for a biopsy next week, and having access to my earlier imaging is important to assess any changes in the last few months. As of today, I was again told the scans had been sent, and that the hospital could follow up if needed. I have now requested another copy (this time on CD, in the correct format) and will be picking it up tomorrow. I hope this time it’s correct. This process has been unnecessarily stressful, especially considering the urgency of my situation. The ongoing delays, miscommunication, and repeated errors are unacceptable and reflect a serious lack of accountability in patient care. Sorry for my rant. 😭
