What patients are actually saying
I was looking around the lower mainland for a private MRI clinic. While reading the reviews to this place I notice for each poor review there is a rebuttal from the owner pretending they are “going to talk to the team” with a consistent request to take the complaint private into emails. The owner should NOT respond to negative reviews with a bunch of excuses. The reviews are for the public to view and make informed decisions. The reviews are NOT for the owner to debate, excuse or respond at all. I will be Choosing a different clinic based on the owners responses to negative reviews. There is no need to the owner to respond to this review. In fact the people request you don’t respond.
When I booked my MRI, I specifically asked whether contrast would be required and was told it was not. I took time off work and drove from Vancouver for the appointment. About 20 minutes before my scheduled time, I was called and told that contrast was in fact needed. I was asked if I wanted to complete part of the scan and return another day for contrast, which would have required more time off and travel. I chose to complete it all in one visit. Although the clinic covered the cost of the contrast, the last-minute change caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience. During the procedure, the technician “Cullen” was unfriendly and did not explain what to expect or check in with me during the hour-long scan. When I asked if I could keep my bra on because I was uncomfortable and it had no wires, he said “do what you want”. I was in significant pain inside the machine and would have appreciated basic communication, reassurance, or even updates on how much time was remaining. Overall, the experience felt poorly communicated and lacking in patient care. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this facility
If I could give 10 stars, I would. The reception was very welcoming, and they let me know right away that we were on schedule and that I’d be called in within about 10 minutes. They were spot on with the timing and showed me a place to change into more comfortable clothing. I mentioned that I’m not a big fan of long MRIs with my head first, having done a couple before, and they immediately adjusted the setup so I could go feet first instead. They gave me a comfortable pillow and headphones with music, tested everything beforehand to make sure it would work, and checked in with me through the headphones during the scan to be sure everything was okay. Honestly, the 35-minute MRI flew by. It was so comfortable I could have fallen asleep, or maybe I did. A great place with genuinely great people working there. I fully recommend.
