This is for the Maternity Unit in Royal Columbian Hospital. EXCELLENT SERVICE!!! I had complications in my pregnancy. I had Gestational Hypertension, Cholestasis and my baby had Fetal Arrythmia. I was induced last April 9,2026 and gave birth the next day April 10, 2026. The nurses who took care of me and my baby were so amazing, compassionate, caring, and very helpful! Please extend our appreciation to these amazing and wonderful RNs, Chloe, Jen, Kelsey, Jane, Tasha, Shanan & Sarah. They gave us the best care! they’re real superheroes! We can’t thank them enough to show how grateful we were when we were there. Again, Thank you to all of you for taking care of me and our baby Boy! You are all the best!!!!!!! THANK YOU!

Let’s just start with the concept of being stashed on a stretcher for three days with no means of contacting a care aide or nurse. No one passing nearby will look in your direction or acknowledge that you spoke unless you bellow at the top of your lungs. There are no call bells and I rapidly ascertained that no one knew Morse code. In addition, when someone does come to see what you want (because, of course, you never “need” anything) you will be told that they’ll tell your nurse. What nurse? Everyone is dressed the same. Who are the nurses? I finally got across to someone that my bedding was soaking. I have been urinary incontinent for over 20 years and they left me with no undergarment. The “nurse” asked me why I had DELIBERATELY wet the bed. And the abuse and disrespect continues: at 3:30 am I was the only one in this section and couldn’t sleep for incessant loud talk about the Salmon Bellies, soccer/futbol, etc. Finally called out for my nurse only to find his voice was the loudest! Then they brought another person in to the area and he told me twice to keep my normal speaking voice down because people were trying to sleep. Do you know why there are notices everywhere about not tolerating name-calling, threats of violence, etc? It’s because they know they drive just about everyone to it, so they can then accuse you of being rude and be vindictive toward you. The most care or compassion I received came from four total strangers who were waiting for relatives. Each time one of them noticed I was struggling with something and came voluntarily to help me.

A HUGE SHOUT OUT to the ER & Trauma doctors, Dr. Sidhu and Dr. Nick , Dr. Vandegriend, Dr. Foster, Emy and Alicia 3 South registered nurses, nurse practitioners Aleza and Kathline / Catherine (sp?) , imaging techs, lab techs, hospital porters, administrative staff and anyone else I forgot to mention for the OUTSTANDING MEDICAL CARE I received at the Royal Columbian Hospital . Everyone was so kind, caring, patient and compassionate. They went ABOVE AND BEYOND in every way and kept me informed throughout the journey. I am deeply grateful to EVERYONE at the Royal Columbian Hospital for their exceptional care. With much gratitude, Debbie
